Henri Simon THOMASSIN (Paris 1688 - 1741) "Les Disciples d'Emmaus" (Emmaus' dinner) Original etching by a subject by Paolo Caliari known as Veronese from the collection entitled "Recueil d'estampes d'après les plus beaux tableaux et d'après les plus beaux desseins qui sont en France dans le cabinet du Roy, dans celui du Duc d'Orléans et dans d'autres cabinets ”printed in Paris by the Imprimerie Royale between 1729 and 1742. Bell original copy, printed on laid paper bearing the "Colombaia" watermark and the literal countermark of the Papeterie d'Auvergne, typical of French paper production of the 18th century, with large margins beyond the imprint of the plate, slightly burnished at the edges and with the usual vertical central fold of binding but overall in excellent general condition. Bibliography: LeBlanc "Manuel de l'Amateur d'Estampes" Paris 1889 vol.4 pag. 32 n ° 34. Measurements in mm: 480ca x 680ca
